Who are we ?

Our philosophy

Sinds 1982 …

It was after the 2016 season that new owners took up the torch to continue the adventure that began in 1982. Two families in love with nature have therefore invested in this atypical and magical campsite. La Parenthèse is on site directed by Clémentine & Thibault, who litteraly fell in love with this place! A great team is here every summer to make la Parenthèse possible for you and still with the same spirit.

The beauty of the place and its authenticity make the parenthesis a unique and welcoming place for campers who want nature and respect for the environment, this is a good idea. It is with this in mind that we work with a great team every year to best satisfy all of our visitors! In short, a stay of choice whether it be family, romantic or with friends. Let’s write a new page in the history of the campsite while retaining its philosophy … a chic & rural place!

We will be happy to welcome you for your Glamping Bracket in an area with redesigned spaces, with the offer of accommodation and equipment expanded and renewed.

L’histoire du camping

Le camping en 1982

It all started in 1982…

Originally, Hendrik and his wife, straight from the Netherlands, fell in love with a superb old farmhouse overlooking 10 hectares of woods and fields in the “Tuscan” countryside of Lot-et-Garonne. They see it as an ideal place to carry out their life project … create a campsite, yes but not just any. A friendly family campsite that would provide vacationers with spacious pitches. Space and Freedom, their credo!
In 1982, Camping Les Ormes (reference to the many Elms planted on the property) was ready to receive its first campers. Success! Very quickly, the locations initially planned were no longer sufficient. They created the first Chalet, the Sunflower.
Always in search of satisfying their customers, the couple settled in the years that followed a swimming pool, a tennis court, a bar-restaurant on the beach of the lake …

« A campsite is never finished and no doubt there will always be changes and improvements to be made », said Hendrick in one of his sales brochures, he did not think so well …..

2003

The campsite becomes glamping under the inspiration of new owners Ruud and Titia and Laura and Niels, two couples of Dutch travelers, have long dreamed of settling in a sunny region, living and working in the heart of nature. Their project, driven by a very simple idea, but quite rare in Europe, was to open a new kind of family campsite where everyone would feel welcomed as in an authentic and comfortable guest house. They set up real African tents. Comfortable lodge tents with their bedroom, kitchen and dining areas, beautifully furnished and decorated with accessories found in flea markets and garage sales, recovered and tinkered with spirit and taste. Kalahari, Gibson, Takla-Makan, Mojave… names evocative of the deserts of the world have been chosen for these chic tents with electricity and real beds .. set on a wooden terrace. Without knowing it, they invented what is today Glamping (glamourous camping).

2011

Natural & Sweet, Nathalie and Régis arrived from Normandy take possession of the premises. The natural and rural atmosphere is perpetrated. The fishing lake and its beach came alive thanks to the hut and its pontoon on stilts. The pizzas and mussels / fries evenings remain in the minds of holidaymakers as precious and friendly moments like evenings around a campfire on the lake beach to enjoy chamalows.

September 2016

In September 2016, Camping Les Ormes opens a new page in its history. We are two families Géraldine & Alban, from Vendée and Estelle & Sébastien de Normandie, fell in love with the place and the region.
